Aventurine is a variety of translucent quartz or quartzite with abundant small plate or flake-shaped inclusions that produce a sparkly appearance. It is most often green but also occurs in orange, yellow, red, pink, brown, white, gray, and blue. Small amounts of aventurine occur in many parts of the world, India and Brazil being the primary sources with smaller amounts found in Russia, Spain, Austria, and Tanzania. Amazonite is a bluish-green to greenish-blue color member of the feldspar mineral group. It has been used as a gem for over 2000 years and has been found in archaeological excavations of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. Howlite consists of hydrous calcium borate and is a white or light grey opaque and porous stone with grey, black, or brown veining that looks much like a spider web. Jasper is an opaque variety of Chalcedony, usually brown, yellow, or reddish in color. Jasper is known for its variety of unique and interesting patterns, it can be mottled, spotted, ringed, or striped. Jasper is an ancient gemstone mentioned many times in the Bible.
