Fossils are an intriging testimony to the amazing variety of life that God created. Ammonites are an extinct type of marine mollusk, related to the chambered nautilus, that were once one of the most common sea creatures. Ammonite fossils formed when they were buried by sediment on the floor of the ocean. Over time, mineral deposits fill the shell. The aragonite shell may remain intact, or convert to calcite, or be replaced by other minerals, commonly silica or iron-rich in composition. Ammonite fossils formed by pyritisation (iron replacing the calcium) will be golden colored while those formed by silicification (silica replacing the calcium) will be grayish in color.

Complementing each unique Ammonite fossil are beautifully naturally colored stone beads of Chrysoprase (green), Red Jasper, Rhodochrosite (pink), Picture Jasper (tan), Lapis Lazuli (blue) on a leather cord with brass bindings (necklace) and stretch cord (bracelet).
